Arsenal may lose another defender this month after watching Calum Chambers succumb to a serious knee injury which will keep him out for the rest of the season.

The Gunners do have several centre-backs left, even in the absence of Chambers and Shkodran Mustafi is one of the remaining defenders who will be looking to regain a spot in Mikel Arteta’s first-choice team.

However, according to the Mirror, Mustafi could actually choose to leave the club as he grows desperate for more playing time.

The report states that the German has new agents representing him and they are pushing for a meeting with the club’s hierarchy to discuss his future at the Emirates stadium.

Mustafi, who is earning £90,000-a-week wages (Mirror), last played for the Gunners in the defeat to Chelsea which saw him concede an agonizing late goal from the Blues.

The 27-year-old moved to the club in the summer of 2016 after being signed from Valencia by former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
