After already sending out one defender on loan, as Mavropanos completed his move to Nurnberg on Monday, Mikel Arteta could soon ditch out another centre-back before the January transfer window closes.

The Gunners are yet to secure the signings of any new players so far in the January transfer window, despite the fact that the squad has struggled terribly to compete for a place in the Premier League’s top four this season.

And even after the injury to Calum Chambers which will see the Englishman miss the rest of the campaign, Mikel Arteta appears to be keen on clearing out some defenders who are not seeing much playing time.

According to Fotomac, Shkodran Mustafi could now be next in line for an Arsenal exit as his agents push for a move to Galatasaray.

The report claims that the German star’s new agents are set to fly out to Istanbul to discuss a transfer with Galatasaray officials.

Mustafi, who happens to be earning £90,000-a-week wages at Arsenal (Mirror), has proven to be a much-maligned figure, ever since his move to the club from Valencia in the summer of 2016.

Galatasaray have been in need of a new defender, after losing key star Christian Luyindama to a knee injury back in November.
