Another big injury boost for Arsenal ahead of Burnley as key man looks to make squad
Arsene Wenger has received more encouraging injury news ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Burnley.
Arsenal moved back into the top four last Saturday after comfortably seeing off Swansea City 4-0 courtesy of a dominant second-half display.
However, Wenger’s men have it all to do if they aim to challenge league leaders Chelsea who are currently eight points ahead.
Keeping key players fit will be the Arsenal manager’s priority and the sight of Olivier Giroud limping off with an injury at Swansea was certainly a big concern.
But after a couple of days of nursing the ankle problem, the France international appears to be bound for a swift return to action on Sunday.
According to journalist Ben Dinnery, Giroud’s injury is actually not as serious as it looked and the striker is hopeful of making the Arsenal squad which faces Sean Dyche’s side.
The 30-year-old, who signed a new contract with the club last week, has been in prolific form when called upon, scoring in each of his last eight starts.
Giroud ankle injury is not as bad as initially feared, the striker continues to be assessed. #AFC optimistic he could be ready for Sunday.
