Monreal secures assist for Spain
This weekend is proving to be a happy one for a couple of Arsene Wenger’s first team players who are representing their country.
On Saturday, Mesut Ozil registered an assist for Germany as the world champions cruised towards a 3-0 victory over Czech Republic.
Earlier today, Alex Iwobi found his goal-scoring touch as Nigeria managed to secure a 2-1 victory over Zambia away from home.
And to finish off the weekend, Nacho Monreal has made a decent contribution for his country in their FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The 30-year-old was called up by Spain boss Julen Lopetegui to replace Jordi Alba after the Barcelona full-back suffered an injury against Italy during the week.
Making his first appearance for his country since November 2013, Monreal picked up an assist in the 2-0 win over Albania.
