Arsenal agree deal for 28-year-old hours before transfer deadline
Arsene Wenger has given the green-light to another Arsenal departure before the closing of the transfer window later on Thursday.
The Arsenal manager has seen his side attract severe criticism over the past couple of weeks following away defeats to Stoke City and Liverpool in the Premier League.
Gabriel, Carl Jenkinson (loan), Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all been offloaded by Wenger in the final days of the summer transfer window and another man has now been included on that list of departures.
Lucas Perez, who moved to the Emirates stadium only a year ago, has been allowed to joined his former club Deportivo La Coruna on a one-year loan deal.
The 28-year-old was eager to leave the club following a forgettable debut season at the Emirates stadium which saw him rarely feature for the Gunners’ first team.
