BBC pundit John Hartson has heaped praise on one of the Gunners’ latest signings from the summer transfer window as Unai Emery hopes he has done enough to strengthen his squad for the new season.

Emery made a number of cheap additions last summer, after replacing Arsene Wenger at the club and those signings did not necessarily pay off as the club failed to qualify for the Champions League yet again.

This summer though, the Arsenal boss has spent more money in the transfer window, with Kieran Tierney being one of the players who completed a move to the club last week.

The 22-year-old will be seen as a potential replacement for Nacho Monreal, who is now at the wrong side of age 30.

Tierney’s undoubted potential has been highlighted by BBC pundit John Hartson, who believes the defender is a ‘fine player’.
