Arsenal contact agents over £120,000-a-week star who could replace Ozil
Arsenal are said to have made contact with the agents of one of Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking midfielders with the view of bringing in a replacement for Mesut Ozil.
The Gunners are currently short of playmakers with Mesut Ozil being the only out-and-out creative player in midfield, following with departure of Aaron Ramsey almost a year ago.
Thus, the club appears to be shopping for a new attacking midfielder, and according to an exclusive report by German outlet Fussball Transfers, the Gunners are pursuing the services of Julian Draxler.
The 26-year-old, who is earning £120,000-a-week wages, only has a year left on his contract at PSG and Arsenal are claimed to have contacted the representatives of the player with an interest of signing him.
Draxler is viewed as a potential replacement for Mesut Ozil, who has attracted a considerable amount of criticism over the past two years after featuring sparingly under previous boss Unai Emery.
Arsenal are said to be keeping tabs on the PSG midfielder, who has been capped 51 times by Germany and was named the best player of the tournament as a young team won the 2017 Confederations Cup.
