Arsenal are currently leading the race to sign one of Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking players according to a report from Brazil.
The Gunners are set to kick off their Premier League campaign on Friday in a home clash with 2015/16 champions Leicester City.
Arsene Wenger has refused to play down the idea of bringing in at least one more new signing before the transfer window closes.
And according to Brazilian publication UOL Sport, the Gunners are now the favourites to sign Lucas Moura.
The 24-year-old’s future at Paris Saint-Germain has been put into serious doubt following the arrival of Neymar from Barcelona in a €221 million deal.
Arsenal’s initial bid for Moura, who was purchased by the Ligue 1 side for €45 million in 2012, has reportedly been rejected.
The player recently suggested that a decision over his next move had not been made yet.
“If something arrives, we will see what is best for me and for the club. Right now, though, I am doing well in France,” he said
Moura played a decisive part in the own goal which Alex Iwobi scored in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with PSG at the Emirates stadium last season.
