Arsene Wenger’s side have entered talks to sign a possible replacement for want-away forward Alexis Sanchez as per reports this weekend.
Bordeaux striker Malcom, who is also being pursued by Manchester United, has emerged as the Gunners’ new target.
Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade, who works for Goal.com, has claimed on his official Twitter account that Arsenal are seeking a move for the promising 20-year-old ace.
The tweet translates: “I posted last week that Arsenal came into the fray for former Corinthian Malcom. Today I hear that the conversations are progressing well.”
The South American youngster, who has also been linked with a move to other Premier League clubs, has made 18 appearances in Ligue 1 and managed to score seven goals so far this season.
A possible Manchester City switch for Alexis Sanchez during this month could force the Gunners to speed up a deal for the Chilean superstar’s replacement and Malcom may well be the man.
