Arsenal ‘enter talks’ with club over move for 22-year-old priced at £25m
Arsenal have reportedly entered talks with Sampdoria over the possibility of signing a new centre-back to strengthen the squad in the defensive department.
The Gunners are currently sitting in fifth place in the Premier League table after three straight draws in the competition which came on the back of a long winning streak.
New Arsenal boss Unai Emery is aware that his side’s defensive unit has a few concerns with summer signing Sokratis, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal all succumbing to injuries.
Thus, the Sun is claiming that Arsenal are now in talks with Sampdoria over the possibility of signing Danish centre-back Joachim Andersen.
The 22-year-old, who is valued at £25million, is also being pursued by fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur who have made an enquiry about his services as well.
Reports are further claiming that two key club officials from Sampdoria recently travelled to London for talks with the Gunners and Spurs.
