Fans react to Francis Coquelin’s show vs West Brom

It is safe to say that everyone was not on the same page about how Francis Coquelin performed in yesterday’s victory over West Bromwich Albion.
The Frenchman retained his role alongside Granit Xhaka in midfield as Arsene Wenger decided against making too many changes to the team which lost consecutive games at Everton and Manchester City.
For much of Monday’s clash with Tony Pulis’ men, Arsenal had the lion’s share of possession as the away side kept several men behind the ball and defended in numbers.
That frustrating sequence resulted in Coquelin being brought off for Aaron Ramsey after 74 minutes of action with Wenger going for the jugular in the closing stages of the match.
Some felt the Arsenal manager did not need to deploy two holding midfielders against an organized West Brom team.
And here was how they reacted to Coquelin’s display….

Coquelin is in a similar situation to Giroud. Hard worker, performs well in some aspects, but still holds team back from what they could be.

Guys, please stop saying Coquelin is holding us back. Our best period yesterday (45 to 60 mins) happened with him on the pitch

Don't let people fool that Coquelin was shit today. He was good just that it's not his type of game. We needed to attack not defend.
