Arsene Wenger was handed a new boost in his pursuit of AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar on Wednesday morning.
The Arsenal manager is believed be in the market for another new addition following the arrivals of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.
AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar, who is reportedly valued at £80m, has been identified as Wenger’s main target, having made at least two offers for the player which were turned down.
But the Ligue 1 champions have seemingly opened the door to the possible sale of Lemar by announcing the signing Adama Diakhaby who plays in a very similar position to the Gunners target.
Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianeli has already suggested that Monaco were delaying the deal with Arsenal simply because a replacement had to be found first.
And with Diakhaby now recruited, the chances of Lemar’s potential move to the Emirates stadium have further increased.
