Arsenal have been boosted by the news of AS Monaco’s attempt to sign a new attacker who could pave the way for Thomas Lemar’s sale.

The Gunners have frequently been linked with the acquisition of the 21-year-old who is also being pursued by other big clubs after an impressive 2017/18 campaign.

Lemar is believed to be keen on a move to the Emirates stadium but Monaco have already turned down at least three substantial transfer offers from Arsenal.

Even so, Wenger has been given new hope of signing the France international following the news that the Ligue 1 side are in talks to sign Rachid Ghezzal.

The Algerian winger, who was recently released by Olympique Lyonnais, is capable of playing on either flank of the attack and his Monaco switch would certainly open the door for Lemar’s possible Arsenal move.
