The Gunners are looking to sign one of the hottest prospects in League One as Unai Emery shapes up his plans for the summer.

The new Arsenal boss chose to do his business in the transfer market at a very cheap level after his arrival at the club as Arsene Wenger’s replacement during last summer.

Emery is expected to search for more new signings this summer with the Gunners still looking to return to the Champions League and the elite status of European football.

Thus, a report by the Mirror is claiming that Arsenal are looking to sign Joe Aribo from Charlton Athletic.

The young midfielder has been touted as one of the most promising prospects in the lower tier of English football and Emery is seemingly interested in bringing him to the Emirates stadium.

Arsenal have watched Aribo a ‘number of times this season’ according to the report.

Since the youngster’s contract with Charlton is set to expire at the end of this season, the Gunners will not have a premium fee to pay for his services.

OPINION:

Signing Aribo makes sense if he is to bring something very different to what we already have in midfield.

Even so, this team is in need of serious experience in that area of the field and another youngster who has a lot to learn might not be a great idea.
