Arsenal now favourites to complete signing of attacker as Premier League rivals fear deal will be done
Manchester City are reportedly concerned that Arsenal are expected to secure the acquisition of one of their brightest prospects.
The Blues have recruited a host of players from the Arsenal first team over the years with Emmanuel Adebayor beginning that trend in the summer of 2009.
But the Gunners are now close to a deal for Jadon Sancho, one of the highly-rated names from City’s youth ranks.
The 17-year-old winger is reportedly stalling on signing a lucrative new contract with Pep Guardiola’s side due to worries of not making their first team.
“The club is worried Arsenal are frontrunners for Jadon as he has a soft spot for them.” a source told the Sun.
“His family think he might get a quicker path to first-team action at either Arsenal or Spurs.
“One of his heroes is ironically Alexis Sanchez. It’s proving difficult to get him to sign his first professional contract here.
“He is a top player, one of, if not the best in the youth system. It’s not about the money for him at all.”
