Arsenal now favourites for signing of £170,000-a-week attacker
Arsenal have been deemed as the favourites to sign one of Atletico Madrid’s former fan favourites in this transfer window.
Unai Emery has been urged to spend more in the transfer market this month with several of his attacking options sidelined by injuries at this stage of the campaign.
The Arsenal boss is believed to be interested in bringing in a new forward to fill the gap left by the injured Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Thus, reports are claiming that the Gunners are now leading the chase to sign Yannick Carrasco.
The Belgian star was a key player for Atletico Madrid before his surprising move to Asia in January last year.
Carrasco is reportedly targeting a return to European football with Manchester United and AC Milan also chasing his signature.
However, the forward is believed to be rather keen on a move to the Emirates stadium.
Carrasco, who has been earning £170,000-a-week wages in China, featured and scored in the 2016 Champions League final which saw Atletico lose to Real Madrid on penalties.
