Arsene Wenger is reportedly considering another outgoing transfer move before the window closes in less than a week.
The Gunners boss has pulled off surprise deals in the final days of the January transfer window in the past but this winter is unlikely to produce any Arshavin-like marquee arrivals.
Wenger’s priority for much of this month has been about temporary offloading fringe players rather than bringing in new additions with three players from the youth ranks already sent out on loan.
And according to the Daily Star, that trend is set to continue as the club works on a possible loan deal for highly-rated striker Stephy Mavididi before deadline day.
The 18-year-old has been in prolific form for Arsenal’s youth teams over the past two years and the coaching staff has now given the green light to the possibility of him spending the rest of the season elsewhere to gain more experience.
Mavididi, who is yet to feature for the first team, has reportedly attracted the interest of a host of clubs from the lower divisions.
With the future of Yaya Sanogo very unclear, the promising teenager could be rewarded with a place in the senior squad if he maintains his steady progress.
