Arsene Wenger is weighing up a move for another defender according to emerging reports on Monday.
The Arsenal manager has been able to recruit Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer so far to improve his defensive options heading into the new season.
However, Wenger appears to be eying a move for one more defender, considering the fact that some of his key shot-stoppers went down to injuries last term.
And according to an ‘exclusive’ report by the Daily Express, the Gunners are now plotting an audacious transfer deal with Southampton for Virgil van Dijk.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to a hosts of big Premier League clubs following an impressive 2016/17 campaign for the Saints.
Even so, Southampton are believed to be demanding an expensive transfer fee and Arsenal are reportedly ready to submit a $58.7 million (£45 million) offer.
