Arsenal prepared to splash £44m on signing of 23-year-old
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to splash the cash on a young talent who could improve Unai Emery’s attacking options.
The Gunners were fairly busy during the summer transfer window as several new signings were secured well before the start of the season in August.
One area where Arsenal may still be short of quality options is attacking midfield, especially with Aaaron Ramsey on his way out of the club after the club’s decision to not offer him a new contract at the Emirates stadium.
Thus, according to respected French source Tele Foot, Arsenal are willing to put £44million on the table to secure the signing of Nicolas Pepe.
The 23-year-old has been in eye-catching form in recent months and Arsenal are reportedly being rivaled by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the pursuit of his signature.
After two seasons without Champions League football, the Gunners are hoping to finish in the top four of the Premier League this campaign.
