Arsenal are reportedly pursuing the addition of another holding midfielder this summer.

The Gunners were seemingly strengthened in the midfield department by the acquisitions of Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka in 2016.

However, Arsenal have continued to struggle in that area with Bayern Munich and Chelsea exposing the team’s weakness in recent defeats.

As a result, Arsene Wenger now appears to be targeting the addition of a new midfielder ahead of next season to repair obvious faults in his side.

According to various claims, Arsenal are actively interested in the signing of Adrien Rabiot this summer.

The 21-year-old has been frequently linked with a move to the Emirates stadium in the past couple of years.

And according to Rabiot, whose price could be in the region of $24.8 million (£20 million), an offer for him is likely to be considered by Paris Saint-Germain.

“I am under contract until 2019 and I do not think I am in a rush. Honestly, I am not thinking about that.” the Frenchman said

“If there are offers from big clubs, that obviously demands that they are considered.

“Clubs like Real Madrid, they are truly great clubs but, truly, the most important thing is the present and I am concentrating on what I am doing right now, that is the best thing to do.”
