Arsenal’s injury curse is going nowhere.

New signing Gabriel witnessed his first ever away start for the Gunners brought to an end following what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

The Brazilian went to the ground after just 35 minutes of action before hobbling back into the dressing room.

Laurent Koscielny was handed a rest at the start of Wednesday night but the Frenchman was called upon to replace the injured Gabriel.

Per Mertesacker, who made a surprise return to the starting line-up against QPR, and Calum Chambers are now Arsenal’s remaining options at centre-back once again.

The Gunners managed to secure a plucky 2-1 victory at Loftus Road as goals from Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez were enough to do the job despite a consolation from Charlie Austin.

However, Arsene Wenger had unfortunate news to confirm at full-time.
