Arsenal submit cheap £14m offer for signing of experienced shot-stopper
The Gunners are seemingly interested in a deal for another goalkeeper to add to the squad as Unai Emery looks to improve his side’s woeful defensive record.
After almost five months into the season, the Gunners are sitting in fifth place in the table with the highest number of goals conceded out of all of the top five sides in the division.
Despite having a new goalkeeper in Bernd Leno this season, Arsenal’s poor defensive record from last season has only gotten worse.
Thus, the Gunners are reportedly looking to sign Keylor Navas from Real Madrid, according to a report from Spanish outlet Sport.
Indeed, Arsenal are claimed to have submitted an offer of £14 million to sign the 32-year-old, who had been Madrid’s first choice shot-stopper until this season.
Petr Cech, who moved to the Emirates stadium in 2015, is not expected to be handed a new contract at the club and therefore a move for Navas is now necessary.
