Arsenal to announce signing of 25-year-old after reaching agreement over affordable deal
Arsenal are set to announce what will be their first signing of the January transfer window after reaching an agreement over the deal with Barcelona.
The Gunners have been in pursuit of attacking players this month, following the injury to Danny Welbeck earlier in the season.
Unai Emery has been closely linked with Denis Suarez for several weeks, with a deal taking longer than expected to be completed as the transfer deadline nears.
However, according to the Evening Standard, the Gunners have finally reached an agreement with Barcelona to sign the 25-year-old on loan.
The club is set to announce the deal later on Tuesday according to the report.
“The 25-year-old is out of contract in 2020 and will sign a new deal on Tuesday before his loan move is announced later in the day.” the claim from the Evening Standard said.
The move for Suarez will see Arsenal pay a loan fee of £2.17m and the Gunners will still be given a chance to sign the midfielder this summer even though he is set to sign a new contract at the Camp Nou for now.
