The Gunners will not be able to call upon two key men for the trip to Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday.

Arsenal will be visiting the Saints on Sunday with hopes of keeping up with Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in the race for the top four spots.

The trip to Southampton comes on the back of an impressive 22-game unbeaten run by the Gunners in all competitions.

Two men who have played a key part in that long run are Shkodran Mustafi and summer signing Sokratis.

The duo have been regulars in the defensive department for Unai Emery this season but neither of them will be able to feature this weekend.

Due to an accumulation of excessive yellow cards, neither Sokratis nor Mustafi will be in action for Arsenal against Southampton on Sunday.

Below was a confirmation by the club via the usual pre-match team news on Friday morning.

“Due to receiving his fifth domestic booking, receives a one-match suspension for Southampton (a) on Sunday, December 16.” the update said

“Due to receiving his fifth domestic booking, receives a one-match suspension for Southampton (a) on Sunday, December 16. Shkodran’s hamstring is also being assessed ahead of Tottenham Hotspur (h) on Wednesday, December 19.”
