Arsene Wenger has now completed the deal for his first new signing of the January transfer window.
The Gunners, who welcomed five new additions during the summer, have been linked with a move for a host of star players in recent weeks.
However, Wenger’s latest acquisition, which will cost him only $50,000, is very far from a household name in football and the player himself admits the transfer is a surprise.
According to Cohen Bramall, who has joined the club on a reported two-and-half year deal after undergoing a medical this week, moving to Arsenal from the seventh division was certainly not something he expected.
“I drove in there and I was absolutely gobsmacked,” he said in an exclusive interview on Sky Sports. “It was like a dream, it was so weird.
“I was training with the first team on the Thursday and the Friday and my eyes just lit up straight away but I had to do my job.
“I trained to the best of my ability; I tried to use my speed a lot, overlapping from left-back and just wanted to get my body out there.”
The 20-year-old is expected to feature for the club’s Under-23 side after being deemed too inexperienced to play for the first team.
