‘He is an awful, awful player’ – Fans are bashing this Arsenal star after his display vs Ostersund

Several Arsenal fans did not hesitate to bash at least one of the defenders who featured in the defeat to Ostersund in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Gunners went into Thursday’s fixture on the back of a comprehensive display a week before as they thrashed Ostersund 3-0 away from home.

Arsene Wenger named a fairly strong starting eleven for the second leg of the round of 32 tie as many expected his side to stroll to the next round of the competition.

However, whether it was due to a lack of proper preparation or just complacency, the away side scored two goals in the first half to give Arsenal a real scare at half-time.

Featuring at the back was Rob Holding, who was handed another chance to impress by Wenger.

But the young defender’s unreliable partnership with Calum Chambers continued in what was a frustrating performance to witness for much of the home crowd.

And after the final whistle, most fans on social media did not spare him at all…
