Update: Bad news for Arsenal on Thomas Lemar signing
Arsenal have received little encouragement in their last-ditch pursuit of AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar ahead of the transfer deadline.
The 21-year-old had been linked with Arsenal all summer but Monaco rejected at least three offers from the Gunners as they maintained their stance of not selling the attacker.
However, a new offer of over £90 million has been accepted by the French champions as Arsene Wenger looks to find a replacement for Alexis Sanchez who could join Manchester City.
Even so, the Gunners might not be able to land the 21-year-old anyway since he is not actually interested in a move to the Emirates stadium.
According journalist Matt Spiro, Lemar is rather keen on joining Liverpool who just signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
