BBC journalist – Another Arsenal star has asked to leave the club
BBC journalist David Ornstein has revealed the players who asked to leave the club during the summer were not only Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alexis Sanchez.
The summer transfer window began on a bright note for the Gunners as Sead Kolasinac was signed on a free transfer before Alexandre Lacazette moved to the Emirates stadium in July.
But matters changed worryingly as Alexis Sanchez continued to hint through the media that he wanted leave the club while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looked to head in the same direction.
However, David Ornstein has revealed the duo were not the only key Arsenal players seeking a way out of north London.
According to the BBC journalist, Hector Bellerin also informed the manager that he wanted an exit, just over two years after being handed his first team breakthrough by Wenger.
“Arsenal encountered problems with some of those they did not want to lose.” Ornstein said
“For example, Hector Bellerin returned from the U21 Euros to tell Wenger he wanted to leave amid interest from Barcelona.
“Oxlade-Chamberlain rejected a new deal and eventually told Wenger he wanted out.”
