BBC pundit bashes Arsenal star for being “stupid”
An Arsenal star has received some strong criticism from BBC Sport pundit Kevin Kilbane after the 3-1 win over Stoke City.
Arsene Wenger’s men were able to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 14 games but they failed to keep a clean sheet for the sixth consecutive game in the competition.
The goal conceded on Saturday came through a controversial penalty kick won by Joe Allen who was deemed to have been fouled by the swinging elbow of Granit Xhaka.
It was the first time the Switzerland international had been involved in a major referee decision since the sending off he received in the 3-2 win over Swansea City two months ago.
Despite the fact that some have considered Xhaka unlucky to be punished by the match official on both occasions, former Premier League star Kevin Kilbane insists the 24-year-old deserves the blame.
“It looked like a penalty to me initially, because Granit Xhaka goes over the top on Joe Allen.” Kilbane was quoted as saying on BBC
“Xhaka does something stupid every game he plays in. He’s on the edge for no reason.”
