BBC pundit names the Arsenal star he’s excited to see Partey play with
BBC pundit and former footballer Don Hutchison has spoken about the Arsenal player whom he believes could be the best partner for new signing Thomas Partey in midfield.
The Gunners were in pursuit of Partey all summer as they looked to strengthen their central midfield options after yet another season of failing to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta finally managed to land his man on Monday, shortly before the summer transfer window was closed.
Following the completion of Partey’s move to the Emirates stadium, most fans and pundits have been sharing their views over the prospect of the Ghanaian star featuring for the Gunners.
And for BBC’s Don Hutchison, Dani Ceballos is the man whom he is excited to see paired up with Partey in Arsenal’s midfield.
With Ozil rarely featuring, Ceballos has been one of the Gunners’ main source of creativity and it might not come as a surprise that the Spaniard is being touted as Partey’s ideal partner.
“Thomas Partey will be a great signing for Arsenal,” Don Hutchison told BBC Sport
“I was reading that Diego Simeone isn’t happy because he wanted the pair – Lucas Torreira and Partey together.”
“For Arsenal they need that sort of player like Partey: a physical presence, he’s very good on the ball, he plugs lots of gaps and with Dani Ceballos, they could form a real relationship in there,” he added.
