A BBC pundit has hailed the performance of one of Arsenal’s stars in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
The Gunners capitalised on Manchester City’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool by seeing off Sam Allardyce’s men to move into third place.
Arsene Wenger’s side was without star midfielder Mesut Ozil, who apparently failed to recover from an illness ahead of the game.
However, the absence of the German international was hardly felt by an Arsenal team which had Alex Iwobi playing in the number 10 role.
And according to former Gunner Martin Keown, the Nigerian youngster proved why he deserves a place in Wenger’s strongest line-up.
“Is this turning into Arsenal’s best team? There’s a really good balance in the team, sometimes the best players don’t make the best team.” Keown said in his match reaction on BBC Sport
“Iwobi has played excellently in that central role, and Xhaka and Elneny have an excellent balance in the middle of midfield.”
Keown also added that Arsenal cannot be ruled out of the title race just yet, considering the sort of opponents they have coming up in their next games.
“Arsenal have five very good fixtures coming up, and they will hope that Chelsea will have dropped points by the end of that run.” he added
“There’s a long way to go in this season yet.”
