BBC journalist David Ornstein has revealed another update regarding the Gunners’ appointment of a new manager ahead of next season.

Arsenal confirmed almost a month ago that Arsene Wenger would be stepping down as manager at the end of the current season.

The decision means that for the first time in 22 years, the club will be responsible for appointing a new manager whose task will be to secure a return to the Champions League after two straight years of finishing outside of the top four in the Premier League.

Various names have been linked with the Arsenal job but there is yet to be any firm word on whom the club is interested in appointing.

According to reliable BBC journalist David Ornstein, the Gunners are taking their time in making the big decision.

But what might surprise a few fans is the fact that former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta is reportedly being considered by the club.
