Arsenal midfielder Kristian Bielik has recalled an interesting incident from his first training session at the club in a new interview.

The Polish youngster moved to north London from Legia Warsaw in a £2.7 million deal during the winter of 2015.

Bielik, who has just returned from a season-long loan at Birmingham City, has rarely been handed playing opportunities by Arsene Wenger.

And the 19-year-old has revealed that he tried to impress the Arsenal boss with his combativeness in his first training session at the club, only to receive a silencing treatment from Francis Coquelin.

“I remember the first training. Francis Coquelin immediately made me aware of his presence.” the midfielder said

“I tried to push around a bit and instantly got a slide tackle to my legs.

“He wanted to show that I shouldn’t mess about, just play my football. But it’s normal.”
