The Gunners have been given a boost on the fitness front with one of Unai Emery’s key defenders now back in action ahead of the clash with Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Arsenal were a team who were often troubled by injuries during the latter stages of Arsene Wenger’s reign at the club and that has certainly not changed under new boss Unai Emery.

The Gunners’ manager has been forced to change his starting eleven in almost every game thus far to deal with the absence of several key players over the past six months.

One of the players who were not able to play a part in the win over Southampton on Sunday was Ainsley Maitland-Niles as Stephan Lichtsteiner was handed a chance to enjoy some game time.

The 21-year-old had been sidelined for the past week due to an illness and his pace on the right flank has definitely been missed by an Arsenal team who are already dealing with the unavailability of Hector Bellerin.

However, ahead of the clash with Bournemouth at the Emirates stadium, the club has confirmed that Maitland-Niles is now back in training with the first team squad.

“Back in full training after illness.” the club confirmed in an update about the defender’s condition on Tuesday morning
