Boost for Emery as 30-year-old joins Arsenal squad training ahead of Rennes clash
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has been given a major boost ahead of the clash with Rennes in the Champions League with one of his key players now fit to participate in training.
The Gunners were able to defeat Manchester United 2-0 at the Emirates stadium on Sunday as they moved back into the top four of the Premier League table.
Not involved in the clash with the Red Devils was Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has once again been struggling with fitness issues, even though he only recently returned from a long spell on the sidelines due to an injury.
The 30-year-old’s fitness ahead of the clash with Rennes on Thursday had been a concern for Unai Emery, who is hoping to watch his side overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg against the French side.
But in a boost for the Arsenal boss, Mkhitaryan has now returned to training with the rest of the first team squad at London Colney.
