Sol Campbell has picked out some of the goal scorers he believes should be heading to Arsenal if the clubs is intent on competing for honours next season.
The Gunners began this campaign with hopes of winning their first Premier League title since the achievement of ‘the Invincibles’ in 2004.
However, Arsene Wenger’s men are now doing their best to secure a mere top four finish after a dramatic mid-season collapse.
That has seen many fans and pundits call for Arsenal to make a host of new acquisitions this summer and according to Campbell, Antoine Griezmann, Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe should all be targeted.
“Up front, Griezmann is definitely someone who could make a huge difference with his scoring prowess and his movement,” Campbell said
“He’s done fantastic for his country and nearly won the European.
“I think the big price tag might be a big hurdle, but if he can sell a couple of players and push the boat out for the big £85million price tag, he will definitely make a huge difference.”
“And also going back up front, I think the new guy on the block in Monaco, Kylian Mbappe,” he added
“Bags of confidence, he reminds me… he could even be the next Henry, okay he has got a long way to go for that but he’s showing potential that maybe if you wait two, three years he might cost just a bit too much as time goes on.
“There’s been talk of Benzema to Arsenal for a while.
“The manager Arsene knows him pretty well. I think he would definitely make a fantastic addition.”
