Cesc is new Arsenal captain
By Randy Osae
Arsene Wenger has this morning, appointed Cesc Fabregas as the new Arsenal captain. William Gallas’ stripping of the armband meant a new leader had to be named, and while the likes of Almunia and Clichy were favorites, the duo have been very sluggish with their displays thus far.
It was first viewed as the idle move to convince the Spaniard to end his career at Arsenal, but now, Arsene Wenger’s meticulous decision to assign Fabregas the captaincy will be a mission to catalyst the Gunner’s melowed team spirit for success this season.
The 21 year-old midfielder has been Arsenal’s top performer for several seasons now, setting onto the stage even when Thierry Henry was on his way out.
Fabregas has since earned the reputation of Arsenal’s most valuable player, and now, despite various perspectives that the Spaniard might be too young for the role, there is no doubt he posseses the passion and lack of naivity to handle it well.
Arsenal’s new skipper is Cesc Fabregas.
