Journalist claims 25-year-old has held ‘discussion’ on joining Arsenal with his agent
Based on a claim via Twitter by journalist Daniel Cutts, one of Mikel Arteta’s transfer targets has met with his agent and discussed the possibility of a move to the Emirates stadium this month.
Arsenal have seen their options at centre-backs suddenly reduce following the severe knee injury which Calu Chambers suffered last month before the club’s decision to send out Mavropanos on loan to Nurnberg this week.
Somehow, Manchester City star John Stones, who is earning £100,000-a-week wages (Spotrac), has emerged as a target for Mikel Arteta, whom he obviously worked with under Pep Guardiola.
Indeed, Daniel Cutts is now claiming that the English defender has held a meeting with his agent and discussed the idea a move to Arsenal this month.
According to the journalist from the Sun, Stones was in London for talks with representatives over his future and the possibility of him reuniting with Arteta has been considered.
