Lee Dixon reveals the Arsenal player who really impressed him vs Chelsea
Former Arsenal star Lee Dixon heaped praise on one of the Gunners’ midfielders after the defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal went into the clash with the Blues, on the back of draws aways to Everton and Bournemouth, having won just one game in almost three months.
What was certainly worrying for fans of the Gunners ahead of Sunday’s fixture was the fact that the club appeared to be falling far behind in the race to possibly finish in the top four of the Premier League.
Arsenal were holding on to a 1-0 lead for much of the game until a dramatic period in the dying minutes saw Chelsea score twice to secure all of the three points, a result they scarcely deserved.
After the final whistle, Lee Dixon shared his thoughts as he praised the performance of Lucas Torreira who was back in his preferred position in midfield.
According to the former Gunner, that display was the best he had ever seen from Torreira.
Lots better shape today for @Arsenal Defence had some protection for an hour. Torriera was everywhere👍🏻 best I’ve seen him play. Goalkeeping mistake unusual. Then a ‘revert to type’ goal conceded very disappointing. Hope Chambers is not too bad
