Despite playing no part in this weekend’s Premier League affair between Arsenal and Chelsea, Didier Drogba managed to get involved with the players’ post-match reactions.

The Gunners defeated the blues for the first time since a hat-trick from Robin van Persie saw them win at Stamford Bridge in 2011.

First half goals from Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil were enough to secure a memorable 3-0 victory as Arsene Wenger’s men brought an end to their Chelsea hoodoo.

However, former Chelsea talisman Didier Drogba, who frequently tormented Arsenal, has jokingly refused to give the Gunners full credit for Saturday’s result.

After Theo Walcott expressed his post-match delight on twitter, Drogba sent a reply to the Arsenal star, suggesting that Wenger’s men were able to win only because the old guard (including Terry and Lampard) which gave them nightmares were not around.

The Ivorian’s comment also appeared to be a slight dig at the current Chelsea squad which is regarded as no longer good enough to scare rival clubs.

Drogba scored against Arsenal yet again in his most recent appearance versus the Gunners in the MLS All-Star game during pre-season two months ago.
