Arsene Wenger’s men will be in action on Thursday night in the second leg of the round of 32 clash against Ostersund in the Europa League.
The Gunners have so far struggled to compete with their main rivals in the Premier League this season as they continue to sit outside of the top four in the table.
However, the cup competitions appear to have provided some hope of success for Arsenal who ended last season by winning the FA Cup.
With their hopes still alive in the Europa League, Wenger is likely to consider winning Europe’s second tier club competition as his side’s best route to the Champions League for next term.
And following a comprehensive 3-0 victory on the road against Ostersund in the first leg of the round of 32 tie last week, the Gunners have every reason to believe a place in the next stage of the Europa League is just about secured.
Wenger should use Thursday’s affair at the Emirates stadium as an opportunity to hand some playing time to a few more second string players, without losing the discipline required to finish off the job.
