Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed that one of his key players will certainly be in the squad for the upcoming pre-season fixtures.

The new Gunners’ boss is preparing for his first season at the Emirates stadium after being appointed as the man to replace Arsene Wenger two months ago.

Emery was able to meet most his players at the start of this month as they reported back to the club for pre-season training.

Some of the big names in the squad are unlikely to be involved in the pre-season fixtures after spending time on international duty at the World Cup.

However, that does not apply to Mesut Ozil even though the midfielder did feature for Germany at the World Cup.

Ozil’s national side’s early exit from the tournament is perhaps the reason why he has been told to return to the club for the upcoming tour.

Emery has confirmed that the midfielder, who is pocketing £300,000-a-week wages, will now join the rest of the squad….
