Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed that his team has been hit by yet another injury blow, following the unexpected defeat away to Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

The new Arsenal manager has received plaudits from most fans and pundits for improving the team significantly after replacing Arsene Wenger back in May.

Emery has managed to guide his new side towards a remarkable unbeaten run which lasted 22 games until the 3-2 defeat to Southampton on Sunday.

Going into the clash with the Saints, the Gunners had already been hit with a number of injury blows as Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding accepted the news of their season being ended by serious injuries.

Arsenal were missing two key defenders as well in the defeat to Southampton as Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis sat on the sidelines.

To add insult to injury, Hector Bellerin has also sustained a fitness blow which could see him miss a couple of weeks of action.

The Spanish star has featured regularly for Arsenal this season and his absence will certainly add to Emery’s woes.

“We need every player. Bellerin has a small injury – he is going to be some weeks off I think.” the Arsenal manager said
