Emery confirms another injury worry for Arsenal after Fulham game
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed a new injury concern for the team after the win over Fulham at home on Tuesday night.
The Gunners had several players on the sidelines ahead of the league meeting with Fulham on New Year’s day.
Indeed, Unai Emery’s injury problems have been so bad that a couple of the club’s youngsters from the reserves team had to be included in the 18-man squad for Tuesday’s game.
Shkodran Mustafi is one of the players who have recently made a return to action after spending time on the sidelines due to an injury.
The German star was substituted at half time during the clash with Fulham and most fans assumed it was only a tactical move by the manager at the time.
But after the final whistle on Tuesday, Emery confirmed in his post-match interview that Mustafi was actually withdrawn due to a minor injury blow.
“It’s a small injury, a small problem. He didn’t feel well after the first half and said for us to change.” the Arsenal manager said
“It’s not a big injury. He wanted to play today to help us, so maybe we can give him a few days rest to help us. Yes [it’s a hamstring].”
