Unai Emery has been forced to explain what type of sickness Mesut Ozil was really suffering from this weekend as he missed the clash with West Ham at the Emirates stadium.
The new Arsenal manager is still getting used to life in north London after being named as the man to replace long-serving boss Arsene Wenger back in May.
One of the most talked-about subjects during the reign of Emery so far has been his relationship with Mesut Ozil, who received all sorts of criticism for his performances for most of last season.
After being left of the 18-man squad for the West Ham, certain rumours claimed Ozil had been involved in a bust-up with his new manager.
Therefore, when Emery suggested that the midfielder only missed the game because he was ‘sick’, the Arsenal boss was asked to really explain what type of illness that was.
“When you are sick… I don’t know how I can explain in English. In Spanish it is ‘catarro’. (Translator:) He is blocked up, he’s got a cold.” the Arsenal boss explained in his post-match interview
“He is bad with sick. It is not a problem with the player, it is not true this information. So ask the doctor and the doctor can explain better!”
