Arsenal manager Unai Emery has dropped a hint that one of his summer signings could finally be handed the start he deserves in Monday’s trip against Sheffield United.

The Gunners boss has not been afraid to change his starting eleven when necessary and with most of his players now available, Emery has plenty of options to choose from ahead of the clash with Sheffield United.

Emery has seen one of his previously injured stars, Kieran Tierney, return to action in recent weeks and play very well in the cup competitions.

With Sead Kolasinac not always proving to be a reliable option at left-back, the Arsenal boss might be tempted to hand Tierney the start that he deserves on Monday.

When asked about whether the former Celtic star could actually receive a rare chance to shine in the Premier League this week, Emery confirmed that Tierney is indeed ‘ready to play’.

“He’s ready to play. Now we have two options in that left-back role with Sead Kolasinac and him. We’re going to play a lot of matches after Monday. We will need every player.” Emery told club’s official website

“It depends how he comes into the first training with us, Sead, after his international matches. We now have two players in that position and we can use one on Monday, it depends how they are, one or the other.”

After moving to the Emirates stadium from Celtic, Tierney is still waiting for his first ever start in the Premier League for the Gunners.
