Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that one of his midfielders who have rarely featured in the second half of this season is ‘okay’ to start ahead of the clash with Newcastle on Monday.

The new Arsenal manager has been very different from Arsene Wenger, as he continues to make controversial and tough decisions with the selections of his starting eleven throughout this season.

Emery decided to complete a deal to sign Denis Suarez on loan from Barcelona during the January transfer window.

However, a couple of months into the midfielder’s career at Arsenal, Suarez is still waiting for his first ever start in the Premier League.

The Spaniard has been limited to appearances off the bench ever since his move to the Emirates stadium.

But ahead of the clash with Newcastle, Emery has confirmed that Suarez is ‘okay’ to start as the midfielder looks to make a rare appearance in the starting line-up.

“I think yes [he is doing well]. I think he is okay for starting in the first 11 or for giving us this impact after.” Emery said at his pre-match press conference via the club’s official website

“But I think now, our focus is collectively very strongly focused on helping in 90 minutes, or 50 minutes, or one minute. We are going to need every player for the next matches.”
