Arsenal boss Unai Emery spoke on the preferred position of potential new signing Denis Suarez after the match against Blackpool in the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

Only seven days into the January transfer window, the Gunners have been linked with several players around Europe as usual.

Arsenal’s erratic recent form in the Premier League has seen many fans calling for more money to be spent in the transfer market.

Thus, several reports have suggested that the Gunners are chasing the signature of Denis Suarez this week.

The Barcelona midfielder played under Unai Emery during the Spanish tactician’s time in the La Liga with Sevilla a few years ago.

Even though Suarez is on the books of Barca, not much is really known about his style of play in the English media.

As a result, Emery was asked about which position the 25-year-old would play in if the duo were to work again.

“He was playing as a left or right winger for Sevilla when he was with me.” Emery said on Saturday

When questioned about how close the midfielder is to joining Arsenal, the Gunners boss remained very tight-lipped about the transfer saga.

“I don’t know.” he responded
