Andrei Arshavin’s so-claimed potential transfer to Arsenal has had it’s likelihood increased by quotes from the player’s agent earlier today.
Dennis Lachter says his client has always been fancied by Arsenal and Arsene Wenger himself, but only time will tell if a deal to lure the Russian hit-man to London will happen.
Zenit St Petersburg, who have allowed their player to discuss matters of a move elsewhere value him at a hefty £20million price and perhaps that could end attractions from Arsenal.
But Arshavin’s agent is adamant the 27-year-old is poised for a switch to north London – considering Arsenal’s admiration – despite admitting that might not always mean moving to bid as far as Wenger is concerned.
“We know that Arsene Wenger likes the look of Arshavin,”
“But I like the look of Angelina Jolie and it doesn’t always mean you get what you want.
“Arsenal were interested in signing him last summer and they still are, so we will wait and see what happens.
“There has been a lot of interest in him this time as well from England, Spain and Italy.”
Logically, the player’s representative might be publicly forcing an attempt from miser Arsenal to splash cash for Arshavin, but there is no doubt the latest on this saga is intriguing.
