Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom got his name on the scoresheet for the first time since his loan move away from the club on Friday.

The youngster was given his debut for the Gunners’ first team a couple of seasons ago but he is still struggling to gain more playing time in north London.

As a result, Akpom has spent the last few years on loan away at various clubs as he looks to improve certain areas in his game, as well as gaining more first team experience.

The 22-year-old was sent out on loan to Belgian outfit Sint-Truidense during the January transfer window by Arsene Wenger after a stint at Brighton.

Akpom has been finding his feet in the Belgium topflight over the past couple of weeks and he was finally able to score his first goal for the club on Friday night in a clash against Anderlecht.

It was a brilliant strike which might just alert his parent club once again about his potential.
